Bruno Pfister appointed Chairman of Quintet Switzerland

Former Chairman of Rothschild & Co Bank Zurich and Group CEO of Swiss Life to chair Switzerland’s newest private bank.

Quintet Switzerland, a member of Quintet Private Bank, announced today the appointment of Bruno Pfister as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Over the course of his highly distinguished career, Pfister has served in roles such as Chairman of Rothschild & Co Bank Zurich and Group CEO of Swiss Life.

Additional appointments to the Board of Directors of Quintet Switzerland will be announced in due course.

Pfister, a Swiss national and trained lawyer, began his career in the Investment Banking division at J.P. Morgan. He then served for almost a decade at McKinsey, where he primarily advised financial services firms, before joining LGT, the private banking and asset management group. There, he rose to the position of Group CFO.

Pfister then joined Credit Suisse, where he served on the Executive Board of the Swiss Banking division, with responsibility for customer segmentation and product management. In 2002, he was appointed Group CFO at Swiss Life, where he was later named Group CEO. After nearly 12 years, he joined Rothschild & Co as Executive Chairman of the Wealth Management and Trust division and as Chairman of their Swiss bank.

Pfister – who holds a degree in Law from the University of Geneva and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management – currently serves on the board of directors of a number of financial services and insurance firms.

“We are delighted that Bruno has embraced the opportunity to chair Quintet Switzerland,” said Jakob Stott, Group CEO and member of the Board of Directors of Quintet Private Bank. “A highly experienced professional with global perspective and deep insight into the Swiss market, he will make an important contribution to steering the strategic growth of the country’s newest private bank.”

“Under the leadership of CEO Emmanuel Fievet, Quintet Switzerland has the client-focused culture and resources to achieve long-term success, including through a significant recruitment drive,” said Pfister. “I’m very happy to serve as Chairman of this industry challenger, and look forward to working closely with my colleagues on the Board and the management team.”
